As a key leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative SEO strategies that drive organic traffic and ensure our digital presence thrives. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in SEO, but also someone eager to continue learning and growing in this rapidly evolving field.

While experience with search engine algorithms, SEO trends, and website performance optimization is important, we value a mindset that embraces change, learning, and collaboration. The ideal candidate should be excited to stay on top of new developments in SEO, including AI-driven search trends. This role also involves handling minor WordPress tasks and working with our WordPress developer and our content marketing and outreach teams.

Mission Statement

We are looking for a Head of SEO who is both technically skilled and strategically minded to drive our SEO efforts across multiple channels, including technical SEO, content, and performance optimization. You will take ownership of our website’s SEO strategy, work collaboratively across teams, and create an inclusive, multicultural environment where growth and learning are encouraged. 

Objectives of this Role

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies that drive organic growth and meet business goals.

  • Take ownership of technical SEO and minor website development fixes to enhance site performance and crawlability.

  • Foster collaboration with internal teams (content, design, and marketing) to ensure seamless integration of SEO into broader campaigns.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team while fostering an inclusive and multicultural environment.

Expectations and Outcomes
  • Achieve a 25-30% YoY growth in organic traffic.

  • Improve conversion rates from organic sources by 10% in the first year.

  • Ensure 90+ Core Web Vitals scores across key website pages.

  • Achieve top-10 rankings for 50% of target keywords within the first year.

Responsibilities

Strategy Development and Execution

  • Create and implement on-page, off-page, and technical SEO strategies to improve rankings, visibility, and organic traffic.

  • Collaborate closely with the Content Marketing Manager (you) to ensure on-page content optimization aligns with SEO strategies, including keyword integration, content updates, and SEO-friendly content creation.

  • Work with the outreach team to develop and execute off-page SEO strategies, including link-building and external partnerships.

  • Partner with the web developer to address technical SEO needs, including site performance, crawlability, and technical optimizations.

  • Conduct competitive analysis, keyword research, and trend monitoring to maintain an edge in the market.

  • Conversion Rate Optimization

  • Collaborate with Content Marketing by implementing conversion rate optimization strategies that guide readers to take desired actions, such as app installs, through improved CTAs and optimized user journeys across the website.

  • Collaborate with content, design, and development teams to test and enhance website elements that impact user engagement and conversion rates.

Technical Ownership

  • Identify and resolve technical SEO issues, including crawl errors, indexing problems, and website speed optimization.

  • Perform minor WordPress-related updates and fixes (HTML, CSS) and collaborate with the WordPress admin and developer for more complex tasks.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for SEO-related projects and cross-functional initiatives.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Monitor and analyze SEO performance metrics (e.g., traffic, keyword rankings, CTR).

  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve site performance using our tools: Google Analytics and Ahrefs.

Tasks

  • Conduct SEO audits and fix issues affecting rankings or site usability.

  • Develop strategies for content optimization, link building, and user engagement to improve SERP rankings.

  • Work with the design and content teams to opttimize or createSEO-friendly and engaging landing pages.

  • Track and report on website traffic, user behavior, and conversions, making data-driven decisions.

  • Stay updated on emerging SEO trends, tools, and algorithm updates.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of driving measurable growth.

  • Expertise in SEO tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, ScreamingFrog, and similar platforms.

  • Solid understanding of technical SEO, including speed optimization and schema markup.

  • Experience with WordPress and basic HTML/CSS knowledge.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with A/B testing, CRO principles,

  • Familiarity with social media marketing and its integration with SEO.

  • Advanced knowledge of link-building strategies and tools.
